Can a USPA A licence be valid if the training site is not a USPA affiliate?
It can be. USPA’s public requirements focus on the student’s membership, completed proficiency card, 25 jumps, examinations, check dive, authorised verification and final USPA issuance. They do not list site affiliate status as an A-licence condition.
A correctly completed paper progression card can serve as temporary evidence for up to 60 days, but the application and fee still need to reach USPA. The stronger completion evidence is a licence number issued by USPA and visible in the student’s own account or membership credentials.
At a non-affiliate site, verify the current method-appropriate instructor rating, who signs each skill, who conducts the check dive and how the application reaches USPA. Institutional affiliation cannot replace this individual qualification and issuance chain.
